Baby Merino wool mulesing free

Baby Merinowolle mulesing free
Doreen knitted these good mood socks. Do you already know our mulesing free baby merino wool from Uruguay?
What characterizes this wool?
It has a fiber thickness of only about 19.5 mic. It is therefore generally completely scratch-free. Top quality is our maxim. This also applies to our merino wool. Of course, yarns that have been "stretched with cheap materials" don't stand a chance with Fairalpaka. Whether it's fine baby alpaca, fine cashmere wool, cuddly mohair or supple merino wool. In all cases, our quality standards are equally high!

Logically, we only consider mulesing-free wool. What does mulesing-free mean?
To do this, we first explain the term mulesing.
Mulesing (English) Mulesing (German) (after John WH Mules) is a highly controversial procedure for sheep. The skin around the animals' tails is removed. This causes the sheep severe pain. The animal rights organization PETA campaigns against mulesing because it is an inhumane method. According to the National Farmers Federation, this method is the most effective way to minimize myiasis. Myiasis is a fly maggot disease. The farmers apparently want to prevent the infestation at low cost and thus achieve a higher yield.

As already mentioned, we only consider mulesing-free wool. The finest mulesing-free merino wool we know of comes from Uruguay.
It is comparatively more expensive. Merino wool from Australia or New Zealand is generally cheaper, but not mulesing-free. We compensate for the higher purchase price with our concept. We avoid unnecessary bureaucracy and buy from the wool producer without any intermediaries. Transport is not by air freight but by container. This procedure saves costs and also minimizes CO² emissions. We keep our logistics costs low through larger sales units and short storage times.
