Why do you only sell sets?
Why do you only sell sets?
In order to buy directly from the producers, we have to buy very large quantities. We can only do this if we also sell large quantities. The sets reduce the processing costs in our warehouse to one sixth. This means that the employee does not have to handle 6 balls of yarn individually, but only one set. As a rule, 300g or more is always needed and there is always a use for some leftover wool!
How do you determine your alpaca prices?
How do you determine your alpaca prices?
Alpaca wool is rightly expensive in the "baby alpaca" quality category. Raising the alpacas on the vast plains of the Peruvian high Andes requires a lot of time, effort and care. The result is reflected in the quality of our wool.
How is it possible that the prices are still so fair?
We mainly sell only one quality level and one of the best - baby alpaca. By concentrating on this one variety, we purchase a very large quantity.
We avoid unnecessary bureaucracy and buy directly from the producer without any additional dealers. Transport takes place in containers and not by air freight, which saves considerable costs and significantly reduces CO2 emissions. We keep our logistics costs low by, among other things, short storage times and larger sales units. Because we do not handle each individual ball of yarn logistically but sell it in sets, the goods do not have to be picked as laboriously.
We are happy to pass on all of these savings to our customers. Our goal from the beginning was to pay the producer fairly and to provide the customer with a fair sales price.
Why don’t you take part in wool festivals anymore?
Why don’t you take part in wool festivals anymore?
In 2017, we were denied participation in a wool festival for the first time because some wholesalers put pressure on the organizer. Our low prices did not seem to have been well received.
At first we were shocked, then we saw an opportunity.
As wonderful as wool festivals are, they also involve effort and costs. Not participating in wool festivals prompted us to pass on the cost savings to our customers in the form of a discount campaign. This has taken place once a year since 2017 and has been met with enthusiastic customers and a great response.
Thank you for your support and active participation!
