Fairalpaka becomes Hansa-Farm®

By Fiorella Cruz  •   2 minute read

Fairalpaka wird zu Hansa-Farm®
Hansa-Farm® what does that mean?
As you may know, we started the fairalpaka project in 2012 full of ambition and passion. The name was and is of course directly related to alpacas and fairness. That's why we chose it. At the time, we had no idea whether you, our dear customers, found this concept as useful as we did. Whether you would accept the sets or whether it was too much for you. Whether alpaca wool would generally work in our shop. That was a lot of uncertainty for us at the time. But after a while, the alpaca wool worked so well that we were asked why we didn't sell other types of wool too.

What changed for us?
We started selling cashmere, merino, mohair and cotton alongside alpaca wool. Now we had a small problem. The name fairalpaka didn't really fit anymore. So we thought about it for a very long time, pondered it and asked lots of friends what we should call our heart's project. We wanted to convey the farm principle in the project name. This means that the wool goes from the farm to the customer, so to speak. In the end we ended up with the name Hansa-Farm®.
By the way, Hansa comes from Hanse and is the name for the associations of Low German merchants. Between the middle of the 12th and the middle of the 17th century, they pursued common goals. Namely, to ensure the safety of crossings abroad and to represent common economic, cultural and political interests. With Hansa-Farm®, we want to build on old traditions such as reliability and combine them with today's digital world.

What changes for customers?
Basically, the name, the logo and soon also the website will change for the reasons mentioned above, but nothing will change in terms of content with the name change.

Is the website changing?
Yes. fairalpaka.de will become hansafarm.com. However, there will be a redirect from the old to the new site.

When will hansafarm.com be online?
We are planning it for June/July 2019.
