Our Alpacare® DK 100 is a versatile, machine-washable knitting yarn. The DK comes from "Double Knit.", that is the perfect balance between thick and thin, making it ideal for most knitting projects. This wool can be washed at 30° on a gentle cycle, remaining even softer than regular Baby Alpaca wool.
For sock enthusiasts, we offer Alpacare® Socks 210. This yarn, specifically designed for knitting socks, features a classic sock wool running length of 210m. With the innovative Alpacare® finish, this wool can also be machine washed at 30° on a gentle cycle, ensuring unparalleled softness and durability.

How take care of your alpaca projects?
This is a regular questiong among our clients and alpaca lovers, that why take a step forward and develop a special products for hand washing your products.
Our Bio Waschmittel, exclusively designed to protect and wash alpaca garments while preserving their unique properties and softness. Alpaca wool should always be washed without lanolin to maintain its valuable characteristics.
It is an organic detergent, developed in collaboration with a German manufacturer, is specially formulated for alpaca wool. Certified by an independent label, this detergent is made from natural materials, primarily from organic farming, and rejects animal testing. It ensures minimal environmental impact with its natural ingredients.
Here are some recommendations to wash your garments:
- Use cold or warm water, never hot water.
- Use Bio Waschmittel shampoo, or a mild shampoo.
- Hand-wash gently, we not recommend machine-wash.
- Rinse in water cold or warm.
- Do not wring or twist, you can warp your garment.
- Squeeze gently the excess of water
- Extend the garmet horizontly and let dry.
Our 250 ml Bio Waschmittel bottle last for up to 25 washes, is also suitable for use in washing machines.
